Hyaluronic acid is a key molecule involved in the skin's aging process, and its deficiency accelerates the aging process, leading to increasingly prominent clinical manifestations. The hyaluronic acid molecule plays a crucial role in retaining moisture in the skin. In the past, scientists focused on cellular aging in different layers of the skin, but it is now clear that the molecules that make up its structure and hydrate the skin play a very important role.
Over the years, the skin loses its ability to synthesize HA molecules on its own, and it's time to supplement them from external sources, especially during the premenopausal or menopausal period. As the amount of HA in the skin begins to decrease, it is important to identify other risk factors as well. These include ultraviolet radiation, polluted air, seasonality, unhealthy lifestyle, and computer work. In such cases, the skin requires additional moisture. It is crucial to start supplementing HA in a timely manner.
Can non-injection hyaluronic acid products be combined with injections?
I believe they can be combined. However, this largely depends on the individual situation. For example, if there are very clearly visible irregularities in the skin’s microrelief due to skin damage, dryness, lifelessness, and dullness, it would be better to start with injection treatments and then continue home care using applicators.
Please tell us more about how Fillerina products work?
The product name is derived from the facial wrinkle filling method (called "filling"), which is performed using the main active ingredient – a special form of HA (hyaluronic acids) that fills wrinkles caused by facial expressions and aging. Similar to HA-based cosmetic fillers, Fillerina’s main purpose is to allow hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeper layers of the skin, filling irregularities and faded areas through water absorption, as well as increasing the volume of the cheekbones and lips.
How important is the molecular weight of hyaluronic acids in the product composition?
Fillerina contains six different types of HA with molecular weights ranging from 1000 to two million Da. I believe the size is very important – the larger the molecule, the more global its role is in immune responses, immunosuppressive functions, blood vessel formation, etc. The smaller the molecule, the more it participates in cell migration and their well-being.
Can unwanted side effects occur during the use of Fillerina?
Upon studying the product’s components, I found that they are pure and understandable. It’s important to note that if a person experiences an allergic reaction, redness, or other clinical signs of intolerance, it is likely due to personal sensitivity to some neighboring elements (such as stabilizers). Personally, I didn’t experience this – my skin was smooth, even, radiant, and pleasantly moisturized.
What results can we expect after a 14-day treatment , and how long will the achieved effect last?
After 14 days of application, the skin will be more even, the micro-relief smoother, especially around the eyes and neck area. The skin will appear brighter and deeply moisturized – what I usually call quality, well-maintained skin. The effect is very individual and depends on lifestyle. For example, an unhealthy lifestyle, insufficient sleep, and exposure to the sun can reduce the results, and in this case, the treatment may need to be repeated.
Can the products be used during pregnancy?
I don't see any contraindications for using HA-containing products during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the postpartum period.
